PUIRSEIL’S PUB – Ed Scholl and Don Krech
6:00 – 8:00 pm
Ed Scholl and Don Krech play electric guitar duets featuring songs, both popular and obscure, from the 1920’s to the present. This year is of special note– Ed & Don have been playing guitar for a combined total of over 100 years!
CHERRY ALLEY CAFÉ – Bob Michel
6:30 – 8:30 pm
Bob Michel is a singer, instrumentalist and teller of tales who has been making acoustic music of one sort or another since the mid-’60s. Long a respected player and teacher of Irish traditional music in the Philadelphia area, Bob has devoted himself increasingly over the past decade to performing original material. A prolific and versatile songwriter, he’s especially noted for his finely wrought contemporary ballads. The cultural arts magazine rambles.net credits his “pleasant singing voice,” “lean, strong melodies” and “touching lyrics,” and calls him “a fine storyteller in the best sense of the word.” Bob’s songs can be heard on two solo CDs, The Oystermen’s Ball (2004) and The Farther Shore (2006). ZELDA’S – Dawson

In the fall of 2008, twin brothers, Taylor and Tyler Dawson formed their new band “DAWSON”. This young band currently consists of 3 members Taylor, Tyler, and Vince Bastian. Dawson has performed at many local events such as Go Joe in Sunbury, Sunbury River Festival, Northumberland Corn Festival, Selinsgrove’s Kidsgrove Fall Festival, and the Sunbury Halloween Parade. They have also donated their talent to many local benefits such as The Rock the Point in Danville, The Nami Walk at the Marina, and The Relay for Life Fundraiser at Ard’s. Performing at local coffee shops has also become a favorite of the band, with special performances at the Common Grounds Cafe in Middleburg. The band enjoys playing classic rock, but also writes and performs their own material. Putting their own spin on modern pop hits is something they have been working on too. THE NEW TEMPERANCE HOUSE AND SECOND STREET PUB – Jay Vonada

Trombonist Jay Vonada has played jazz standards and original compositions at regional festivals and celebrations for several years. He released the CD Jammin’ in 2008. Jay’s personal jazz improvisational style is grounded in the bebop tradition of Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and J.J. Johnson. Jay has an extensive list of credits since college in 1990’s. He brings a quartet that includes Jay on trombone, Alex Sell on the organ, Mac Himes on the guitar, and Phil Haynes on drums. Please visit his website at www.jtvonada.com.

Darcie Miner and Jimmy Patton

Singer-songwriter Darcie Miner had her debut performance at the age of 13 and it didn’t take long for her to develop an emerging talent. She’s made various TV appearances, played shows at colleges and renowned venues like the 9:30 Club, CBGBs and House of Blues. She has shared the stage with Patty Griffin, Richard Thompson, Graham Parker, Drive By-Truckers, Wyclef, Beth Hart, Citizen Cope, Rodney Crowell and more. WXPN named her an Artist to Watch. She also performed solo on CBS’ Star Search in 2003 – just her and her guitar singing The Box Tops’ “The Letter. “ She was the first unsigned act to perform live on MTV – a show called “Advance Warning”. Eventually Darcie teamed up with multi-instrumentalist and producer Jimmy Patton in 2007 and they have been recording ever since. Her music has a rootsy, guitar-driven edge. Frank Wicher Band

Described by area music critics “as Roadhouse, Outlaw, Honky-Tonk” music, Frank Wicher likes to tell it as he sees it in his own tunes and sing it as he feels it when doing renditions of those he admires like Waylon, Willie and the Boys. It’s hard to sit still when this group is on stage playing the music you don’t hear on the radio any more! Frank sings lead and plays guitar with his wife Bonnie singing back-up. Dave “Ike” Eisenhower on drums and Buzz “Have Bass Will Travel” Meachum on electric bass round out this local bit of Texas Hill Country in central Pennsylvania. Check them out at www.frankwicher.com.
BRASSERIE LOUIS – Folk Justice Band

Lewisburg’s own, The Folk Justice Band, formed in 2004. They specialize in tight harmonies and fresh arrangements of folk and classic rock gems, with a few originals. Members include Leo Armbruster, guitar and vocals, Glenn Crook, lead guitar and vocals, Rick Findlay, keyboards and vocals, Jim Kerber, drums, & Geoff Schneider, bass guitar. BULL RUN INN – Blind Chitlin Kahunas

The Blind Chitlin Kahunas are a powerhouse band comprised of four exceptionally talented, veteran musicians and longtime friends finally united. The Kahunas are the blues, fortified & funkified.
The band features guitarist & vocalist Chris Bovard, bassist & vocalist Kimbo Reichley, keyboardist Webb Kline and drummer Joel B Vincent … all of whom are highly revered by their peers as top-notch musicians. Individually, they have performed across the country & beyond, and collectively, they bring over 120 years of combined musical experience to bear at every show. Performing regularly at pubs, clubs, concert halls and music festivals, the Blind Chitlin Kahunas have opened shows for legendary bands such as Tower Of Power, and have shared stages with such notable blues artists as Tab Benoit, Levon Helm, The Nighthawks, Smokin’ Joe Kubek, and many more. The Blind Chitlin Kahunas are also two-time Memphis International Blues Challenge Semi-Finalists.

TOWNE TAVERN – Kinsey

Kinsey is a rock band from central Pennsylvania writing music with an original, eclectic and edgy mainstream pop feel. Kinsey has been performing together for more than 10 years and boasts four strong vocalists with an emphasis on melody and harmonies. The members of Kinsey each hail from diverse musical backgrounds and each have different personal musical tastes which the band blends together to create a refreshingly different type of rock music.
Kinsey’s performance history is that of a hard working, consistently busy band playing whenever possible. Additionally, the band has had the pleasure of opening for national acts numerous times.
Kinsey is releasing their second EP in Spring 2011 called “Taking on Water”. The tracks are energetic and musical with attitude. Their first EP, “Opposites Attack” received excellent reviews and sustained play on local radio stations.
