Stroll through the Arts
Both the visual and the performing arts take center stage in historic downtown Lewisburg the first Friday in November as the Lewisburg Arts Council sponsors the Eighteenth Annual Stroll Through the Arts on Friday, November 4, from 6:00 pm to midnight. Start with the Art at 6:00 when over 30 artists display their works in shops, studios, and galleries all along five blocks of downtown Market St. that evening. The artists range from painters to potters to jewelers to photographers, and are all from the central Susquehanna Valley region. A Silent Art Auction and Sale will be held that evening from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the 323 Market Street, in conjunction with the Stroll Through the Arts. This year will be the 24 th annual auction, and features work donated by the juried artists who participated in last April’s Arts Festival. New this year is an “Instant Gratification” price for each item – if you can't wait to see if you won it, you can just buy it right away!
This year’s Stroll Through the Arts will again feature our passport program. Anyone who visits and has checked off the required number of businesses in certain blocks of downtown is eligible to enter a drawing for one of three pieces selected from the art donated by Arts Festival artists. Passports are available at any one of the participating businesses (look for the luminaria!) or the Silent Art Auction and Sale site. The drawing will happen at 9:00 at the 323 Market St. auction site.
End with the Music from 9:00 pm to midnight! Dance to the Music features two great bands for free:
Backyard Ponies, at the Bull Run Tap House, 605 Market St., from 9:00-11:00 pm
Royal Benson, at the Towne Tavern, 600 Market St., from 10:00 pm – midnight
Both bands are free and open to the public.
